Winter Blues can affect a Home too
It’s that time of year in Texas when it may, or may not, freeze… If you’re like most of us, we don’t trust the weather forecasters and just plan ahead as best we can. Wrap your exterior pipes and water fixtures. Drain and/or turn off your sprinkler system to prevent busted supply lines or frozen exposed sprinkler heads. Seal any exterior openings for drafts, like those around windows, vent openings, AC coolant lines, exterior wall penetrations, etc. Check your dryer vent damper flap to make sure it isn’t stuck open from lint build up. Plenty of cold air can get into the house through an open dryer vent.
Some basic maintenance and prevention methods can save lots of money on heating costs through a cold winter. Better to be prepared than pay higher utility bills.
